"Message from Andrew Meredith, Lay Director" |
|
- how the structure of the Cursillo weekend works and how it leads us all on a journey into our 4th Day - reappraisal of the importance of the 4th Day and how our lives with Christ are strengthened through Rule of Life, Spiritual Direction and Group Reunion; how to do Group Reunion effectively as part of the Cursillo method - the value of Ultreya and how to do Ultreya effectively as part of the Cursillo method - being "Saints, Servants and Apostles" - an exploration of what it means to make a friend, be a friend and bring your friend to Jesus - the Servant Community - the role of Cursillo within the church. In addition there will be most of the normal activities of an ultreya, including floating group reunion and a lay witness talk. The day will be begin and end in worship, with a simple communion service at the end. And, most excitingly, Lyn Radcliffe, current BACC President, will be travelling all the way down from North Cumbria to be with us for the whole day and will lead some of the sessions. There will also be opportunities to ask Lyn questions both in a formal session and informally afterwards. One change from the normal ultreya arrangements (other than the earlier start time) is that because time is limited we will not have a bring and share lunch, instead please bring your own packed lunch. Tea and coffee will be available. There is plenty of parking at or near the venue. I would encourage you to attend if you possibly can what I think will be a really fulfilling and enjoyable day. For those people who have attended a Cursillo weekend recently it is a valuable recap and extension of some of the topics covered in the weekend. for those of us who have been around a little longer it is important to be reminded of the heart of the Cursillo method from time to time. I look forward to seeing you there. Best wishes and ultreya! Andrew.
